Peru Trip Machu Picchu 6days and 5nights

Trips to Machu Picchu is situated in the convergence between mountain and jungle in the Cusco Province of Peru about 2,450 meters (7,710 feet) above sea level. The city rests between two mountains high above the Urubamba river valley. It is strategically located with steep slopes on all sides and an impassable mountain standing behind it. It was accessed by the Incas from Cusco using the Inca trail to Machu Picchu.

THE PERUVIAN ANDES AND AMAZON HAVE 2 MAIN SEASONS FOR TRIPS: TRIPS IN THE RAINY SEASON TO MACHU PICCHU AND TRIPS THE DRY SEASON TO MACHU PICCHU. THE RAINY SEASON IS BETWEEN OCTOBER AND APRIL, WITH THE DRY SEASON GENERALLY RUNNING BETWEEN MAY AND SEPTEMBER. DURING THE DRY SEASON, TEMPERATURES CAN RUN FROM ANYWHERE BETWEEN 12 C (50 F) AT NIGHT TO THE MID 30’S C (UPPER 80S F) DURING THE DAY.

Not surprisingly the dry season is the best time to travel to Machu Picchu and this coincides with summer holidays in Europe and North America. July and August are the busiest months and to avoid large crowds to Machu Picchu, people should aim to travel to Machu Picchu outside of these months.

Macchu Picchu :  Pachakuteq cult had been abandoned. Nobody knows what happened; maybe someday the story of how he was burned and destroyed as part of the «extirpation of idolatries» that broke out at that time and, according to Raul Porras Barrenechea is located: seems to have emerged inflicted by the priests of the redoubt of Vilcabamba and have secretly spread throughout Peru during the period of Governor Lope García de Castro, around 1565 «. If so, Machu Picchu -place notable in the area of Vilcabamba was a fixed point for unleashing the evangelizing furies fans, at that time, they supported the war against the rebels Incas. Anyway, in 1568 there were still «caciques» there, as clearly documents say. Evidence of severe fires, appear in almost all precincts excavated by archaeologists in Machu Picchu. Fire subjecting the infidels and their paraphernalia was one of the most notorious practices of the «eradicators of idolatries» monks. Some remains of fires could be causing Bingham in his exploration from 1911 to 1915, but he himself is responsible to say that in several parts had found traces of old fires. The most notable of them, accompanied by blows to break hewed stones, is the one that came on top of the more visible and luxurious shrine of Machu Picchu, now known as «the tower» and that was the crypt of someone like Pachakutec- of great importance. There, the stones are broken thermos, by action and sustained heavy fire. Maybe if I was in the crypt, as in the temple of Pachacamac that destroyed Hernando Pizarro flammable organic material, consisting of the remains of slaughtered animals, herbs, oils and others. They gold that was there took and burned the rest. In the window that faces north are still holes that were used to secure the gold, which could well be in the form of the image of the Inca Pachakutec, the chroniclers say they had on the mausoleum of the Inca If Machu Picchu was the mausoleum Pachakuteq, we can consider that this destruction occurred between 1540-1550, a period in which, according to the chronicler Betanzos, was still Inca mummy «at home» in Patallacta. Indeed, Juan Polo Ondegardo could only discover in 1560. If we follow Porras in his history of the «removal», Machu Picchu could be the first victim of these vandals evangelizing practices. Machu Picchu Inca is an urban center. Its construction was not before the installation of the Inca Empire, ie only had a little over 100 years old when the Spanish arrived in Cusco, even if there were homes or facilities earlier times. He was then in force in the s. XVI. There are several documents that speak of Picho or Piccho in the area where the sanctuary is and some of them, in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, even mention Machu Picchu and Wayna. Thanks to the studies of Luis Miguel Glave and Maria Isabel Remy, a document from 1568 that speaks of the «people of Picho» and mentions the land cultivated by the Incas in the region and caciques who lived there known. Therefore, in 1568 it was still inhabited village Picchu. Says there that territory was conquered by Pachakutec Inka Yupanqui, who won most of the lands, from Torontoy downstream (this confirms Betanzos and Sarmiento de Gamboa) ie from Patallaqta and Qhenti or Qente, which is about the Cusichaca river. He says the chief of the village of Picchu cultivated coca and there is another document from the same era, which mentions that the inhabitants of Picchu taxed coca Spaniards, but mentioned also that in times of the Incas «what there is picked up once served to make sacrifices and ritual the dead bodies as usual in this king Hera not be among them. «

In fact, the town was built almost entirely for this very purpose and it is to here that all train services from Cusco and the Sacred Valley travel in Peru.

A more affordable option is the train Backpacker service to machu picchu which still has fantastic views although not with the same comfort
and service of trips.

History of Machu Picchu:

The date of Machu Picchu’s construction is thought to have been around 1430. Many theorists poise that it was abandoned less than 100 years afterwards and that the region was uninhabited by the time of the Spanish Conquest, perhaps a result of the onslaught of Small Pox that reached Peru before the Spaniards themselves. This depopulation would partly explain the inability of the conquistadores to easily track the site down and it remained untouched and unseen by Europeans for centuries Machu Picchu. The fact that it was exempt from Spanish plunder makes it one of the most complete sets of Inca ruins in the country in peru.

Almost 400 years after the fall of the Incas, Yale scholar Hiram Bingham was led to the ruins by locals to the area during his search for the last Inca Outpost of Vilcabamba. At first he thought he had found his prize – and understandably so – but after further research it became apparent that this was not the case. Bingham had in fact already visited what is now believed to be Vilcabamba, but he had dismissed these ruins as he was not aware of their full extent, which today is still engulfed by thick jungle.

Since his discovery of Machu Picchu, the site has been cleared and has dramatically risen in profile. It is now considered to be the most important archeological site in the Americas, and one of the most significant in the world. Archeological discoveries continue to be made around the site, and its historical importance is recognized by UNESCO who declared it a World Heritage Site Machu Picchu in 1983. It has also been named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World Machu Picchu and has become an extremely popular tourist destination drawing crowds of people every single day to Machu Picchu.

So why exactly was Machu Picchu built? A myriad of theories have been given in an attempt to answer this question. These range from it having importance as a sacred religious city to it being a high security prison. The most likely explanation, however, is that it was built as a spiritual and ceremonial retreat for the Inca Pachacutec during an expansionist period of the Inca Empire in the mid fifteenth century. At its height, it is even thought that this was the center of a buzzing economic region that could have been populated more than just within the city of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu Layout in Peru:

Regardless of its purpose, what is clear is that a large degree of intelligence went into the careful planning and construction of the Inca citadel. Closer examination of the ruins reveals that much thought was given to the different elements of the city and their arrangement in relation both to one another and to the surrounding natural environment to Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu is split into two sections by a grassy central plaza. Generally speaking, to the east of the plaza are a variety of religiously important structures. On the western side are mostly civil structures that would have been the living area of workers in the city of Machu Picchu.

Peru Trip Machu Picchu 6días y 5noches
