Viajes a Machu Picchu

Travel to Machu Picchu: I had been several times in Peru in my travels, but had not visited Machu Picchu. Everyone recommended me as trips to Machu Picchu, I said it was a pity I missed it on my travels, being so close on several occasions in Machu Picchu. Looking at the pictures on the Internet, the fact that place looked interesting and magical, and all people had visited on their trips to Machu Picchu, they told me an experience of knowing it was only of Machu Picchu. Alyson, my English teacher told me had felt a special energy of Machu Picchu, as if there still inhabited by the spirits of the Incas. He told me, and I barely managed to understand it, the scenery was stunning, flanked by majestic green mountains jungle (Travel to Machu Picchu).

He had also been my friend Samuel, an avid backpacker travel journalist, and told me it was a place where it was easy to connect with yourself, with your inner, given the mystical and sacred character of the place Machu Picchu. Since he had finally decided to meet in my travels, I had entered the Internet and read about the Inca city Machu Picchu, such as it was one of the most important Inca archaeological monuments in the world Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site Machu Picchu. So after so many enthusiastic comments from friends of his travels, the truth felt an interest and a desire to see truth. Moreover, he was eager to get there on my trips to Machu Picchu, to feel that special energy that Alyson said, to contemplate one of the wonders of the world Machu Picchu. In fact, that was one of my goals in my most recent trips: visit the 7 wonders of the world Machu Picchu. And I say recent because I’ve always been a person with clear ideas. I mean since I was five years old I showed me clear and defined objectives. He had a knack for defining and strive to achieve them. It was like a game, and really all my life was perfecting that skill: the ability to set goals and achieve them (Travel to Machu Picchu).

That has led me to great heights in my career. In fact, I studied journalism and quickly found work as a reporter on a national television channel. Later, I worked my way up in my career, becoming newscaster on TV with more audience in my country, and become a very popular character. That popularity led me set new goals: to publish several books on various aspects of Western society, economic, political or social. My work as a journalist greatly facilitated my work as a writer, as it had all the necessary information at hand, and worked daily with her (Travel to Machu Picchu).

On a personal level, I scored my goals very young. I wanted to marry a beautiful and intelligent woman, and two children. And so it happened. I also suggested learn to play excellent tennis, and spent several years teaching in order to win friends in the games he played every fortnight. I ended up winning them and being the best (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Work as a writer and presenter of the television news gave me fame and money, and gradually enterprises and institutions claiming to lecture me about the current economic and social crisis throughout the world, and new trends. That was the reason for my travels to different countries, including Peru. He was giving lectures on my latest book: «The truth about the crisis» was becoming a real bestseller. And this time, I decided to stay three days to go on a trip to Machu Picchu. That was the main goal of my travels, apart from repeating the same conference successfully in different business and economic forums Lima (Travel to Machu Picchu).

After three days, he had achieved the second goal. Now I lacked the principal, and it had meticulously organized the trip from my country, the tourism agency Peru. I selected the fastest trip to arrive as soon as possible and to enjoy it as long as possible, although the most agile way to get involved no less than seven hours. That was not for me! He was not used to wait long to accomplish what I intended, and seven hours of journey made me very uphill. However, there was no other means of getting, so I had to resign myself. I left at five in the morning from my hotel in Lima, in a taxi to the airport. I took the first flight to Cusco and there I picked up one of the employees of the agency, where I accompanied a large truck (Travel to Machu Picchu).

He is okay? She said just landed the guide worriedly. I did not understand the question.
Yes very good. Thank you. I answered
It is that altitude sickness here in Cusco is very dangerous. Once we had taken to the hospital where a tourist because I could not breathe … clear which they are usually elderly or children.
We climbed into the van and started a long journey through different roads. During the trip he was picturing my future sensations and emotions when it came to Machu Picchu, and therefore did not pay much attention to the landscape, and occasionally the guide drove me to ask how I was concerned. I kept telling him that I felt perfectly, and felt nothing like dizziness or vertigo. But the guide was obsessive and insisted every ten minutes with your question. As it was silent, he took the opportunity to look at some pictures where I had my backpack on the green mountains of Machu Micchu, and that grew more and more my desire to be there and, without further delay or travel eternal and boring (Travel to Machu Picchu) .

After more than an hour traveling in the van, we arrived at the train station of Ollantaytambo. There I need to get a ticket for the train ride to Machu Picchu Expedition, where it would take me to the nearest station to Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes, but I was waiting for about twenty minutes until you can catch the first. Next to the station there were plenty of craft stalls and I was walking around but not too much attention. My mind was still focused on my goal to travel to Machu Picchu: Machu Picchu reach and feel everything they had told me: magic, nature, spirituality, positive energy. Yes, I wanted to get there as soon as possible. One of the main reasons why I felt impatient to be already there was that in recent months I had realized that I was not happy with my life. In my fifty-two, he had achieved everything marked, he had an enviable life, with a beautiful and intelligent woman, with two model children, an exciting profession that allowed me a variety of experiences as well as fame and money. What more could you ask for? And yet, something inside me whispered to me again and again that he was not happy. The worst thing is I did not understand why, nor where he came that voice. Inside me, yes, but what dark and hidden part of my heart? (Travel to Machu Picchu)

Therefore, the increasingly frequent nausea had inside me very confused and disoriented. I told myself that perhaps the solution to my dissatisfaction was that new targets would mark me for my personal and professional life. That was what he had always motivated me, so definitely had to be the key. So at times I dedicated myself to think about my goals. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

What was what he wanted to achieve at this stage of my life? In one of my lists the goal of visiting the wonders of the world came, both man built like natural. That made a new dimension suddenly surfaced in my mind, and my motivation went through the roof. And he had seen the pyramids of Egypt and the Roman Colosseum with my wife. And now, taking advantage of the business trip, he went to visit the third. During the trip by train Expedition I felt very nervous, and my eagerness to reach my goal and achieve increased and increased. He sat next to a village elder, must have been about eighty years. Noting my anxiety turned to me (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Is the first time to visit Machu Picchu?
– Yes, yes. The first time. And you? I answered barely look at him.
– No. I’ve been twenty times.
– Twenty two! OMG! And for what? It does not make any sense. I said rashly.
– Well, that depends on your perspective. He replied mysteriously.
– Already you know by heart the monument. And besides, travel times are soporific. I can only imagine repeating this eternal and heavy trip for twenty times. Phew!
The old man looked at me calmly, unperturbed. He was dressed in a white linen shirt and chinos gray (Travel to Machu Picchu).

For me every time I make the trip, everything is new, everything is different. For example, on this trip I have met you and we are chatting. Sometimes I have visited after rain and the cloudy sky, sometimes the mountains and the landscape shone with the sunlight.
I assure you that I have enjoyed every one of the trips as the first.
he explained with intensity the old man.
– I said tersely.
When checking my skepticism and confusion, he continued digging, while I did not realize that the unknown old man would gradually enganchándome with your questions and comments (Travel to Machu Picchu).

What you would like to be already in Machu Picchu, right?
– Yes, of course. I’m pretty nervous, and I do not like to wait.
– Already.
– You see, it motivates me to get things, achieve goals, achieve challenges. All my life I have been, and the truth is that I have done very well, because I’ve got a lot of things in my life, I feel very proud. And now my goal is to see Machu Picchu. Well, actually, it is a small part of the real goal is to visit the wonders of the world, both natural and built. When you can see the fourteen wonders, phew! I often rush to have. Imagine how amazing it must be to have traveled the world on their trips to see the most amazing places on the planet (Travel to Machu Picchu).
Do you realize the beautiful scenery where we are touring right now? He said old and somewhat surprisingly sharp. That forced me to look out the panoramic windows which had the Expedition train in the ceiling, through which could be seen the lush vegetation and wild jungle. also I looked out my window right and left, and really the scenery was very beautiful (Travel to Machu Picchu).
– The truth is nice, yes. I like very much.
– What about the temperature? Have you noticed much hotter than when we started the trip?
– Yes, the truth is that now that you mention it, I’ll remove the jacket.
I replied surprised not to have been aware of the drastic change in climate.
So you will not be quiet until you have not visited the fourteen wonders of our planet.
– That’s!
– And what about the goals you have been achieving in your life? I mean … What happened at the same moment that getting?
– Well … I felt great, proud, ebullient (Travel to Machu Picchu).
How long was it? The old man kept asking, and I every time I was more intrigued. I did not know where he was going (Travel to Machu Picchu).
– Well, not much. A few minutes at most a few hours, because I was thinking about the next target.
– I imagined.
– How? Why? What do you mean?
– No offense, but I think when you get to Machu Picchu, not spend more than five minutes and is already thinking about the next wonder of the world (Travel to Machu Picchu).
– Can be … but what’s wrong with that?
– What do you think will happen at the time of reaching the last monument, the latest wonder? When you have seen it all. What will happen?
– I feel happy.
I do not think so. For immediately, you will be thinking about the next target. Do not you see? (Travel to Machu Picchu)
The train, without realizing it, had been decelerating and were already arriving at the station of Aguas Calientes, next to the great Inca city. When we arrived, I went down with the old man, not comprehending his last words. It seemed very bold, even arrogant meanwhile, allowed to venture what I would feel or think of special moments. So I decided to say goodbye to him and continue my way alone. The old man did not bother. On the contrary, he grinned and said, «Enjoy your goals» (Travel to Machu Picchu).

From the train station in Aguas Calientes you had to get on a bus that would take us to the top of the mountain where Machu Picchu was through a very narrow and devilishly steep and twisty road. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

The journey was really complicated, especially when a shuttle bus back and another had to be crossed. Even once our bus had to go back to a few meters, causing a tense silence of panic among tourists going inside (Travel to Machu Picchu).

The old man had mounted another coach, but now unwillingly was remembering, because for the first time was enjoying the spectacular scenery of the imposing mountains. They were pleasant few seconds, but quickly interrupted my mind that fleeting moment with his relentless desire to reach Machu Picchu. Finally, after seven hours, he was about to arrive. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

From my hotel in Lima, still night, until then, had spent too many hours. It was 0:30 pm. And I wondered if Machu Picchu, with its mystical and sacred energy, would do away with my annoying inner voice and my life dissatisfaction last year. It could not be otherwise, and that made me feel excited and nervous at the same time. He tried to guess among the many green mountains which would be the famous mountain that appears in all tourist photos (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Finally the bus arrived at the top, and we all alighted. Still not seen the Inca city, we had to deliver the ticket of admission. But first I had to meet my new guide, which I explain in detail the history and details of Machu Picchu, to enjoy it with maximum intensity. As wearing a cap and a T-shirt of the agency, I recognized it immediately and we greeted amiably (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Welcome to the Inca city of Macchu Pichu, the citadel considered one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. My name is Graciela, and I will be your guide during the itinerary.
– Thanks, nice on the trip.
And yes I was happy because the guide was a pretty enough Peruvian, but provided with a small, thin body, and it was my custom and individual guidance, which was a real privilege (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Once we entered the enclosure, we had to climb an uphill path, while Graciela I was explaining:

Using ingenious techniques, the Incas managed to transport heavy stone blocks and carve and polish them with surprising neatness.
And finally, before my eyes, there it was. The city surrounded by majestic mountains jungle. He had come, he had succeeded. Saw down there the remains of the city, excellently preserved, surrounded by a bright green vegetation, and all lit up and embellished by laser direct sunlight where plummeting forcefully on every stone and every green centimeter (Travel to Machu Picchu) .

And then, as he went down to savor all the intricacies of this monument and that civilization, I was thinking of my mission accomplished, and how I felt. I looked at my watch and had not been five minutes since he had first seen the citadel, and then as a supersonic beam came to my mind the image of my next target of trip: Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, another the wonders of the modern world. And then I remembered what the old man had predicted the Expedition train. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

He said he would not spend even five minutes I’d be thinking about my next goal. I felt ashamed for being so predictable and stupid. An old man of eighty, who did not know me more than a twenty-minute conversation, knew better than I how I would feel in a particularly notorious moment of my life. It could not be true (Travel to Machu Picchu) ..

Then, Graciela asked me several photos from a mound that allowed a privileged view of the entire city. I smiled for the picture, while still exploring inside. How did I feel at that moment? If I had to define it as a word, I’d say empty. I felt empty. Why? He did not know. Yes, the first five minutes I was excited, I enjoyed the beautiful landscape and world wonder, having achieved a goal in my life. But after those five minutes, I felt empty. I did not even work and exercise to imagine in Rio de Janeiro, contemplating the splendid Cristo Redentor. No, that did not work either (Travel to Machu Picchu) ..

As we walked and touring the temples, cemeteries, housing, and agricultural terraces, all distributed with an order and incomparable beauty, Graciela was explaining me with love and extreme detail the stories and legends of the sacred place (Travel to Machu Picchu ) ..

Hidden within the tropics and built with a privileged geographical location that combines the sacred mountains, running water and an almost perfect celestial alignment, Machu Picchu is located in the middle of the mountains 2,400 meters high. With all its mysteries, it was a carefully contrived city, which represented a sacred geographical center for the Incas. Observe its stone walls, which inspire great respect for the builders of this monumental work. Since it was discovered on July 24, 1911 by the American Hiram Bingham, Machu Picchu has been considered, by its extraordinary magnificence and harmonious construction, as one of the most important architectural monuments and archaeological planet. (Travel to Machu Picchu)
It surprised by the way the stone buildings are deployed on a narrow and uneven hill, whose edges there is a cliff 400 meters deep that forms the canyon where you reach the Urubamba River. (Travel to Machu Picchu)
Undoubtedly, the Citadel Machu Picchu is surrounded by mystery because so far the archaeologists have been unable to decipher the history and function of this stone city of almost one kilometer long, built by the Incas in a magic geographical area where converge the Andean and Amazonian. Tourists visiting this natural relic are convinced where perhaps the mystery is never fully revealed because until now, there are only hypotheses and conjectures. (Travel to Machu Picchu)
For some, it was an outpost of the expansionist project of the Incas; others believe where was a monastery, where girls to serve the Inca and the high priest formed. As you can see, the surprising perfection and beauty of Machu Picchu’s walls -construidos joining stone to stone without using any cement or adhesive have led to many myths about its construction … (Travel to Machu Picchu).
While Graciela went on and on talking, I watched and listened attentively to my thoughts, and emotions ensaciones. Sometimes I kiss Graciela wishing surprised. It was where I wanted to be for three months and all he wanted was to catch her waist, stroking his black hair and kissing her on her lips. It did not make sense. Had to enjoy more goal achieved, something was wrong with me. Perhaps, after all, the old man was right, and never would enjoy more than five minutes of a hit. After the tour of the ruins of Machu Picchu, which lasted two hours tour visit, we returned for our steps and Graciela me goodbye cordially. I sincerely appreciated their services and decided to stay a little longer in the city, alone, watching from a high. I needed to clear my head. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

I sat down and took a few sandwiches I had prepared in my backpack. While devouring the food, came to my mind some of the words of the old train. I tried to analyze the meaning of their sentences. There was highlighted very simple things like increasing the temperature and the beauty of the landscape. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

Also, in my opinion, he had downplayed the achievement of the objectives. At the end of the day, What she was the fact twenty times visiting Machu Picchu? I started thinking that maybe it had a meaning. Yes, the old man insisted me where each trip was different from Machu Picchu, which had experienced situations and different experiences, and had put as an example the fact to know me. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

While thinking about the meaning of the messages, and remembered the splendid vegetation seeping through the panoramic windows of the train, I also began to remember other aspects of the track, I got up at four in the morning. For example, I had not appreciated the magic of Lima empty and dark street when I picked up the taxi, or music played on the radio during that journey trip to Machu Picchu.

Yes, it was an old song of the eighties, «Take my breath away» of the Berlin group, where I loved. While she is touring Lima listening to this tune I learned not fully enjoy the emotions and feelings that caused me the fusion of all the elements. Why? Because of my tyrant mind, I locked myself in prison exclusive obsession with the ultimate goal, which came over me with his thoughts to keep me from experiencing the present moment. Interestingly, now he remembered that moment. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Later, while flying on the plane watched the beautiful sunrise, with soft orange clouds floating beside me, and yet my anticipatory thoughts on the target despistaron and steered me of that extraordinary moment. He was remembering only ones which had not given any importance, had not enjoyed as they deserved, for being obsessed with reaching my goal now. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

However, I now looked the most significant and enjoyable … If I had been able to enjoy them with maximum intensity, of course! For example, when wandering confused by the craft shops in Ollantaytambo station, had not been able to see the care and love with which they were made manually bracelets, hats, ponchos, musical instruments, pottery and rag dolls. What a pity! (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Even longed for the old man who removed me with your questions and comments, I would have liked to continue talking to him because now I realized where I could teach you a lot about life. He had made me aware of the beauty of the landscape on our journey by train, and also the pleasant feeling of warmth as we approached Machu Picchu, compared to the cold in Cusco. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

Another unforgettable moment, if I had known taste, would have been the rise with the bus to the top, with this impossible road, flanked by those monumental and supernatural mountains. But neither had valued its splendor as he deserved, just a few fleeting seconds. He had contemplated by bus windows contaminated by the desire to get anxious. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

I also remembered the beauty of Graciela, sympathy and also the incredible architecture and engineering of the Incas, how every stone was placed in its right place, pushing and being pushed by other stones, how intelligence was designed the citadel of Machu Picchu, and my memory came numerous details of the tour. But everything was blurred by my confusion and emptiness I felt when I checked effectively was already thinking about the next goal, when I tried in vain to feel the special energy that I had spoken to reach Machu Picchu. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

And all this took me by a disturbing interior journey. Now I realized. Perhaps the true value of the visit to Machu Picchu was the journey rather than the destination. How could not have enjoyed the most during the seven-hour trip to get to Machu Picchu? With all the wonders to which he had been exposed in my travels! (Travel to Machu Picchu).

And all this reflection on the journey, in a whole new perspective for me, took me to connect with the rest of my life, with all the goals where I had scored and achieved. I realized as I watched the grandeur of Machu Picchu, which had been all my life too focused on the goal, and I had missed the real essence of life moments, experiences and situations that I lived to achieve those objectives. There was the real treasure, and I was not able to never see him during my fifty-two. I felt a sense of deep sadness to discover that he had wasted my life. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

Always in search of the target where I definitely did feel full, accomplished, happy. But of course, you never met. Once achieved the goal, I was about to confront the next, hardly live and be aware of what was happening on the road between achievement and another. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

I found it amazing what had caused within me that trip to Machu Picchu. At first it was a goal, a destination more than cover to proceed to the next. Now the time had stopped to tell me where I needed to enjoy what life had me at every moment. I suddenly felt a clarity never known to me as if the pond water had calmed down and could see the bottom. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

And I decided, with total commitment, that from that day was going to enjoy my journey, the journey of my life, every detail, every time, without obsessing reach the destination or the purpose for which you were working. He would not give up continue proponiéndome challenges and goals, because I needed. But the vision would be radically different. The goal was to become a means, not an end in itself. A means to live and experience different experiences, to meet new and exciting people to enjoy with the five senses all I would offer life on that trip. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

I finished devouring sandwiches as he felt the heat of the afternoon sun, and say thank you for being here in this wonderful place. I noticed some white and beautiful flames a few meters below, and looked, now with absolute fascination, the vast green mountain where Machu Picchu dominated. I felt better, more relaxed. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

I got up and started walking, his back to Machu Picchu. Before it was out of my sight, I turned to stare again. I was five minutes and, standing, feeling the breeze which caressed my skin, listening to the voices of tourists, watching came and went smiling and taking pictures. At last, I continued walking to where the wonder disappeared Machu Picchu. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

As I approached the area to travel bus, I saw the old man inside one of them about to start. He turned to me and met his gaze. I waved and he replied with a knowing smile and serene. I realized that he knew what had happened to me inside. (Travel to Machu Picchu)

While the bus, with the old man inside, away from me, I saw that little voice that uncomfortable where I was tortured last year was muted. I had never felt so alive and ebullient. He was willing to share with my wife and children my great learning. But before that, I decided to make the most of every moment and experiences where I separated from that desire. (Travel to Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

¿Y usted? –Respondí sin apenas mirarle.
  • – No. He estado veintidós veces.
  • – ¡Veintidos! ¡Dios mío! ¿Y para qué? No tiene ningún sentido. –dije imprudentemente.

Soy bastante nervioso, y no me gusta esperar.
  • – Ya.
  • – Verá, a mí me motiva conseguir cosas, alcanzar metas, lograr retos. Menudo subidón voy a tener.
Me gusta mucho.
  • – Pues…me sentía fenomenal, orgulloso, pletórico (Viajes a Machu Picchu).
No sabía adonde quería llegar (Viajes a Machu Picchu).
  • – Pues no mucho.
  • – Me sentiré feliz.
(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

Me sentía vacío.

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)
(Viajes a Machu Picchu)
(Viajes a Machu Picchu)
(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

Mientras Graciela seguía y seguía hablando, yo observaba y escuchaba con atención a mis pensamientos,  ensaciones y emociones. A veces me sorprendía deseando besar a Graciela. No tenía sentido. (Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

Ahora me daba cuenta. (Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu).

(Viajes a Machu Picchu)

Nunca me había sentido tan vivo y pletórico. (Viajes a Machu Picchu).
